the Walk Out of the State of the Union
The coverage on FOX was great, they showed Bush's entire walk out of the chamber and turned up the sound during the last few minutes, it was fascinating. It is always strange to watch adults ask for autographs but Bush has long been happy to oblige. The fascinating part was watching his interaction with the congressmen; celibrity is so important that some very liberal Democrats looked like enthralled school girls. Rep. Denis Kucinich (D-Oh.) got two chances to shake Bush's hand, I think that Bush asked him, "Dennis, are you coming at me from both the laft and the right?" Bush and Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-IL.) had some sort of good natured banter back and forth, some of it seemed to involve Jesse Jackson Sr.As they got out of the chamber into the hallway Bush spoke briefly to Russ Feingold (D-Wi.) who seemed to quickly back off when he realized that there were television cameras taping the scene. I have heard that Feingold is a pretty good guy so his first instincts are probably to be nice to people, especially other nice people. Bush Derangement Syndrome can be a sad thing to watch.
