Dan Seals vs the English Language

Democratic congressional primary candidate Dan Seals has an interesting sentence in his silly e-mail that I missed when I first read his note. One paragraph begins with "Our Congressman, Mark Kirk...", that is amazing. Dan Seals' congressperson is Janice Schakowsky (D-IL), a notoriously wacky and shrill loudmouth who is hard to miss. Why is Dan Seals lying to his potential constituents before he has even won the primary?

Great point, El Rider, I missed that one myself. It's pretty sad how Seals has failed to control this issue and remove it from the campaign.

How much could it cost in transactional fees (brokers' commissions, title insurance, closing costs, etc.) to just pack up and move a few blocks over to a comparable house that's actually in the 10th District? Maybe 35K on a $500,000 house? What, the investment is not worth it in your campaign to suck it up and spend that money, just to get over such a silly issue?

It's already cost him the ability to cleanly tag Footlik with the carpetbagger label, meanwhile Kirk is off speaking to the people about Pakistan and pushing pro-Israel legistation and initiatives all over the place. Clearly "Mr. No Earmarks for Veterans" Seals is still a rookie, playing a rookie's game.

El Rider,

No, no, no, you miss the point. Dan Seals thinks he lives in the 10th Congessional District and that Mark Kirk is his Congressman. Despite the efforts of many, he has never personally acknowledged his residency in the 9th to my knowledge. Clear additional evidence that Dan is mostly living in Lala Land.

Publia- maybe Seals is just a proponent of doublethink, and he believes he does live in the 10th, except when he states that he will move into the 10th as soon as he wins.

TA, I thought it was only his spokespeople who said that . . .

It is indeed pretty sad that Mr. Seals can't move down the street, when he announced (I noticed the announcement on Wilmette!) I stated that if Dan just got a job he could afford to move into the district. I agree with you TA, the 35-50k is worth it if you actually want the job. Maybe this was resume padding that went better than he thought. I also agree that Dan is mostly living in LaLa Land, my biggest gripe about the real LA is that very few people seem to know how to get anywhere or even exactly where they are in relation to the rest of the city. Except for the beach. That was a trick I figured out after asking directions at a few gas stations, a map and a hand pointed towards the beach and I was halfway to figuring out how to get wherever I was going.

Happy New Year!
