Democrats Going After Catholics - Again

Where do they find these bigots? You would think that it was 1926 all over again down in Virginia. Keith Fimian is running for congress in Virginia's 11th District and that is where the his Democratic opponent is passing out flyers that draw attention to the fact that Fimian is Catholic. Like Fimian I am also Catholic, I also once lived in the Deep South at a time when the Ku Klux Klan was active. The Klan once targeted Catholics, although certainly not to the extent that they targeted African-Americans. The Klan was also an organization made up primarily of Democrats, which makes this latest bigoted Democratic campaign make more sense. It is also notable that for at least twenty years the Klan has recruited Catholics in order to add to their flagging membership rolls.
