Ron Paul, Just as Ignorant as Kucinich

Yesterday afternoon the House of Representatives voted on a resolution calling on the UN to sanction Iran over their illegal nuclear weapons program that they are using to menace their neighbors. Only two idiots were dumb enough to vote against this resolution, Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) and Ron Paul (R-TX), two dim bulbs who are running for President in their respective parties. I wonder what the wacky "Paul-Bats" think of this latest bit of intellect from their pathetic little hero. The resolution stated the following:

"Calling on the United Nations Security Council to charge Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad with violating the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide and the United Nations Charter because of his calls for the destruction of the State of Israel"

Whatever is wrong with Ron Paul and his followers could probably be helped by a good psychiatrist and the logical move on to the Democratic Party.

Two years ago the House condemned the words of Ahmadinejad and used general terms in calling on UN action.

This time the House is asking the UN to charge Ahmadinejad with a crime.

This will trigger a sequence of events that will lead to war and (because the trial will have to be in Israel) bring other Arab countries into the war.

The US should never allow the UN to determine when it goes to war. The House should be skeptical of bills designed to provoke war. The US should seek ways of dealing with the problem that are short of war.

The bill also makes two other statements designed to bring the US into war.

Anonymous,
"because the trial will have to be in Israel"? What the ---- are you talking about? Also note that the United Nations CANNOT force a member state to go to war (unless of course the United Nations is making war on said state) and although the US Constitution may not be perfectly clear on the powers of war making the Constitution is very clear that the delgate from Fiji does not have a vote. Furthermore any UN war making vote goes through the Security Council where the US has a veto. Where does one get the type of nonsense that you have written? Really, I don't know what it is like where you are at but it is a nice day here in Chicago maybe you should go out and get some sun.

Well, given that Ron Paul wants us to withdraw from the UN, I can see why he might not want to vote for a resolution that calls on the UN Security Council to do anything. But I expect that the primary motivation is the same as Kucinich's, namely, he sees this as an attempt to move closer to war, which he opposes.
