Caroline Kennedy - Aided by the Corrupt Daley Machine

As the nation's political conversation turns to the idea of Caroline Kennedy as the appointed US Senator from New York it is important to remember how she got to this point. It is very simple, she was born into consideration. The only reason that Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg is being considered for anything beyond art critic or legal associate is that her father was once President. It should be remembered that the only reason her father, John F Kennedy became President is that he was aided and abetted by vote fraud that was famously run by the Chicago Daley Machine. The Daley Machine is also the reason that Rod Blagojevich is currently the Governor of Illinois.

Beyond the fact that her entire life has been defined by the results of a dirty vote fraud in Chicago what does this woman think that she will bring to the table to help the State of New York? The Kennedy family has shown a lifetime of entitlement for generations and this is just more of the same for that family. I have to wonder, is Michael Skakel busy? It is almost riotous that members of the Democratic Party want the New York Senate seat to be occupied by a completely inexperienced woman with historic ties to the Chicago Daley Machine and its vote fraud activities.

On the other hand, like Steve Goodman's You Never Even Call by My Name she may be the perfect Democrtaic candidate for New York state, she is after all: the daughter of man who gained the pinacle of US politics with the help of the corrupt Chicago Democratic Machine, her uncle, a US Senator killed a woman while DUI, one cousin murdered a neighbor while high, another cousin ran into a DC barricade while DUI, another cousin was killed when he ran into a tree while SUI (skiing uinder the influence), she worked at an art museum, she has worked at the family library, she attended Radcliffe, she is a lawyer. If this is the best that New York can do then it is little more than a backwater, possum stew and all.

Teddy Sobers Up?

Some of the Kennedy clan got together and endorsed Sen. Obama (D-IL) in his quest for the Democratic Presidential nomination. This time Teddy didn't blow his lines. You kind of have to feel for Caroline, up there with Uncle "killed-a-chick-while-dui-back-in-the-day" Teddy and Cousin "drove-thru-a-capital-hill-police-barricade-dui" Patrick. Camelot it ain't.

Flying Debris previously discussed the idea of comparing Barack Obama to John F. Kennedy in Obama on Mid-East: Let Them Eat Falafels! Here is the relevant paragraph:

The Senator has announced his committee during the week of the anniversary of the inauguration of another charismatic Democratic politician, President John F. Kennedy. President Kennedy’s inaugural address was one of the great speeches of the twentieth century and one in which Kennedy threw down a moral gauntlet while stating “that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty.” The past forty-six years have seen the Democratic Party completely abandon that strong moral stand; whether it manifested itself in the refutation of the legacy of the late Senator Henry “Scoop” Jackson (D-Wa.) or making Congressman Zell Miller (D-Ga.) into some sort of apostate the Democratic Party will no longer stand up for the freedoms of others. This immoral stand flies in the face of centuries in which mankind has gained personal liberty in the face of tyranny, the refusal to help others is quite simply a disgrace. In his wonderful inaugural speech President Kennedy reminded us that “each generation of Americans has been summoned to give testimony to its national loyalty. The graves of young Americans who answered the call to service surround the globe.” The President was discussing the need for Americans to help others gain liberty because we have been given liberty by the actions of others. Senator Obama, like nearly all of the members of his party will not pay any price, bear any burden nor meet any hardship in order to help others gain freedom; unless the dispossessed are coming to the United States to cut their lawns.
