Some "Would Personally Be Happy To Pay Higher Taxes...

...I welcome their enthusiasm, and I am pleased to report that the IRS accepts both checks and money orders."

Pelosi Blinked “TORTURE” in Morse Code during SOTU

Inspired by the exploits of Rear Adm. Jeremiah Denton (ret.), Speaker Pelosi blinked a Morse Code version of the word “T-O-R-T-U-R-E” while listening to the President’s State of the Union speech on Tuesday evening. Unfortunately whenever the President spoke of “victory in Iraq” Speaker Pelosi was seen furiously blinking the word “H-E-L-P!” in Morse Code. Many today do not know of Adm. Denton and his fight against the Vietcong sadists who held him prisoner. Denton was pulled out of his hole one day, cleaned up and forced to appear in a communist propaganda film in which he stated that he and his fellow prisoners were being treated humanely; while speaking to the camera Denton blinked the word “T-O-R-T-U-R-E” in Morse Code.

Also see this disgraceful Democratic reaction to Denton’s heroics. Remember, they support the troops, yeh, right.

Disclosure: I have met Adm. Denton; he taught part of a week-long class on torture (part of an Intro. To Psychology requirement) at Spring Hill College while I was a freshman there.

Democrats Can't Stand Up For Sitting Down

During the State of the Union I commented on the fact that the Democrats refused to stand and applaud when the President mentioned "victory in Iraq" in Do the Democrats Even Want to Win? It was a truly disgraceful spectacle. Well I wasn't the only one to notice that the delusional couldn't get off of their "ample backsides." Lorie Byrd of Wizbang and Examiner fame also noticed it; her Examiner article includes this tidbit from one military blogger, "(o)ne milblogger wrote that he was disappointed that so many 'sat silent on a call to victory in Iraq, yet stood in ovation at the call to support the troops.' He continued, 'If this is how you support us, please, just stop.'"

Indeed, stop and blow it out of those ample backsides, please!

Mucho thanks to Elvis Costello for the inspiration on the title; it is of course from his song I Can't Stand Up (For Falling Down).

Do the Democrats Even Want to Win?

Bush just said that America should win; the Republicans were at least sharp enough to stand up and cheer (those clowns should've lept to their feet!), the Democrats on the other hand; well a few of them stood up but most of them sat on their collective ample backsides.
