Does My iPhone Hate Glenn Reynolds?

That would be Professor Glen Reynolds of the fantastic Instapundit. Some explanation is in order, whenever I use my iPhone's Safari web browser to head on over to Instapundit the phone's screen goes blank when the scroll function is used before the page is fully loaded into memory. The iPhone doesn't store more than one previously browsed page, the phone's non wi-fi download speed is slow and the Instapundit page, with it's graphical ads takes a while to download, combined it leads to some frustration and lots of waiting. The cure is to stop the download (the text on his site downloads pretty quickly) by tapping the "X" at the top right-hand corner of the screen. This problem likely effects other people on other sites but I haven't noticed the problem elsewhere.

This afternoon the Professor commented that although he needs a new phone, he would not be buying an iPhone. I like mine but I can't blame Reynold's, it seems that the phone doesn't like him very much.

Professor Reynolds Blogs About Zombies - Again

Okay, he was actualy blogging about the Voting Dead or Cook County's occasional, ahem, influence on national politics. However when one considers our tendancy to allow the dead to vote he may as well have been writing about zombies. The Professor was pointing out an article from the New Editor on the makeup of the Obama lead in the Democratic primaries, 60% of that lead is from right here in Cook County, Illinois. That would be the county that includes Senator Obama's adopted home town of Chicago, the home of the Voting Dead, Jerimiah Wright and Toni Rezko. It's the Chicago Way, we see your James Riatti and raise you a Toni Rezko and the Cook County Democratic Machine, sucka!

Cows and College Hijinks

Professor Reynolds, the author of the wonderful Instapundit points us to this book on college pranks and it's title, If at All Possible, Involve a Cow: the Book of College Pranks, brings to mind a wonderful story about President McKinley. McKinley briefly attended Allegheny College were he pulled a cow-related stunt. The future President took a cow to the top of a bell tower that still stands on campus and left her there; cows will walk up stairs but they will not walk down stairs. The cow was slaughtered in the bell tower and the future 25th President of the United States got the boot.

By the way, the college prank book is by Neil Steinberg, a Chicago Sun Times columnist who is worth the daily read, in any given week he probably tees off most of Chicago, he's great.
