Melanie Sloan, executive director of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, a nonprofit ethics watchdog group said, "Mr. Jackson is availing himself of the full range of loopholes by which he can transfer money to his family.”

The Jackson family of Chicago have gotten what they have through blackmail and intimidation.

Democrats: Judge Cannot Question Obama

This piece at Talk Left complains that a military judge has not followed Obama's "orders". They have described a judge's ruling as "insubordination". Parts of the Democrat Party have descended into utter fascism. Go read the entire piece of crap but be prepared to look at your Democrat neighbors as the gulag guards. Eric Holder: "I Need Bill Curtis to Help Me Find the Internet!"

Obama's Attorney General nominee and former Rod Blagojevich attorney Eric Holder has now admitted to gross incompetence. Mr. Holder has stated that he did not know who fugitive tax cheat Marc Rich was. Ranking Republican Arlen Specter had the following exchange with Mr. Holder:


Specter: Did you receive information about the facts of the Rich case from anyone other than Mr. Rich’s attorney, Jack Quinn?

Holder: No.

Eric Holder could not find the internet.

At the time in question Mr. Holder was the Deputy Attorney General of the United States, he worked in the Justice Department yet he failed to notice the fact that tax-cheat and international fugitive Marc Rich was on the United States Justice Department's Ten Most Wanted List.

Democratic Illinois Governor In Jail!

And it's about time. The scumbag Rod "Pizza Boy" Blagojevich (his last private sector (read: real) job was delivering pizza) has been thrown in jail and I hear that they had him cuffed. Democrat Blagojevich has been accused of soliciting bribes to influence his decision to name President-Elect Obama's Senate replacement. He was also attempting to get a Cabinet position, he attempted to get more business for his wife and he attempted to get members of the Chicago Tribune's Editorial Board fired. So far I've only heard radio reports however here is a report from the Hill. The Democratic Culture of Corruption continues apace here in Obama's Blue State Illinois.

Gary, Indiana - One Vote Over the Line for Obama Campaign - UPDATE - Las Vegas!

We should consider this a warning, there will be election problems in Lake County, Indiana. Laura Washington, the Sun Times columnist, De Paul prof and former In These Times editor wrote another of her election roundups and as usual it is informative, especially the section concerning Gary, Indiana. That is Gary of Lake County, Indiana, the same Lake County that is having such big problems with fraudulent voter registrations and the same Lake County that Flying Debris commented on here just two days ago:

Barack Obama's former employer, ACORN (where he was a "community organizer") has just turned in thousands of fraudulent voter registrations in Lake County, Indiana. This follows reports from the primary that Chicagoans were attempting to vote in Lake County and that people were bused in from elsewhere, that students were taken out of school and bused to polling places. A documentary concerning fraud in this year's Democratic Caucuses even examined polling in Lake County, among other things they found gang intimidation (starting at 4:00 minutes) in Lake County. The first linked article mentions that telephone lines at the ACORN offices in Gary, Milwaukee and Chicago were reported to be disconnected, here is what I found: the Gary office has an anonymous recorded message voice mail that appears to be from their telephone service company, the Milwaukee line has been disconnected and the Chicago line appears to be up but the nested menu often reconnects to itself. This is more of the hopeful Chicago politics that the Obama campaign is bringing to America, this is Democratic "reform."

Washington's Sun Times column covers a number of issues but here are the relevant paragraphs (emphasis mine):

On Nov. 4, Gary, Ind., could end up as ground zero of the political universe. Indiana was the firewall state in the 2008 Democratic primary season. Hillary Clinton won that battle, but lost the war.

Rudy Clay, the flamboyant and pertinacious Gary mayor, was the star of that drama. Although Clinton prevailed in the May 6 primary, the returns from Clay's stomping grounds came in so late that Clinton was denied a victory speech in prime time. Clinton supporters accused Clay of sabotaging the counting.

Clay claims the process was slowed by a deluge of early-voting ballots. "We were not doing that on purpose," he told me the other day. "It just looked that way." I could almost see his grin over the phone.

Once again Indiana is hotly contested territory, and Gary could be pivotal.

"No Democrat has ever won the state of Indiana without winning Gary. We are not going to break precedent now," Clay proclaimed.

His voters will bring it in for Obama because they know how to count, Clay added.

"We are spending $10 [billion] to $12 billion a month in Iraq, and in Gary we can't get $12 to fix a pothole."

State Sen. Earline Rogers, a lead coordinator of the get-out-the vote effort, is also counting -- and confident. The Gary native has served in the Indiana legislature for 26 years.

"We are trying to be extremely careful," she said, "because the rest of the state looks at us as sort of the 'Cook County of Indiana.' " (Senator, nice try, but don't even think about snatching that esteemed title away from us.)

Obama lost the Indiana primary by about 14,000 votes. Rogers calculates that 19,000 registered Gary voters did not show up at the polls in May. "We can make up that difference," she said.

We should all be worried about vote fraud in Gary and elsewhere in Lake County, Indiana. This is the new kind of politics? This is the change we've been waiting for? These are the people we've been waiting for?

Obama Supporter Releases Sarah Palin's Social Security Number

What is wrong with those people? Like everything with Obama he is at arms length, one of his top advisers was an adviser to the man who released the information. Wizbang has the story. Oh and they can say that they didn't release the last four numbers, well great, those are the most public numbers. What is wrong with those people?

As to Obama being at arms length to "everything" that is not quite accurate, as Jim Hoft of the fantastic Gateway Pundit noticed in this AP article, sometimes the MSM lets the mask slip just a bit. Hoft has helpfully been reminding the Obama campaign to "keep it classy", they should heed his advice.

Obama Has More Experience With Crooked Businessmen Than Palin

In this CNN article Barack Obama has claimed that he has more experience than Sarah Palin and on some levels he is correct. Obama has spent more time with Chicago crooks, mobsters and convicted Democrats than Gov. Pallin has ever done. Now maybe if Tony Rezko had gone up to Alaska and helped Todd Palin build the Palin home (ha - I'd like to see that Rezko loser with a hammer!) then maybe Obama would be on to something. Let's face it, Obama's work experience has shown him to be just another crooked Chicago politician trying to game the system.

Cook County, Democratic Corruption, the CTA and Derailment Dangers

I was up in the suburbs last weekend and it appears that the suburban Chicago is attempting to catch up with Chicago corruption wise. The rail crossings for the street level CTA's Skokie Swift line have been getting some much needed rehab work this summer, repeated car and truck crossings eventually undermine the grade causing pressure on the train tracks causing them to sag, thus making the train cars unstable. The contractor who had refurbished many of the grade crossings had just finished on a crossing near the terminal near end of the line last week when the CTA called to complain that he had used substandard materials and that the rails were already sagging, needless to say he hopped into his truck to make an immediate inspection. What he found would lead him to a few days of headaches, he found that a drain pipe was draining water into the crossing's area and that his materials had not fully dried due to the occasional outflows from the drain. Upon calling the CTA and consulting plats of the area he found no marked drainage so his crew corked the drain pipe and rebuilt the grade crossing. Two days later an inspection showed that the drain pipe had been uncorked and was once again ruining the crossing, now the contractor was livid, he traced the drain pipe to a local car wash, it was their discharge.

At that point one would think, "hey this is now easy, here is a business that is illegally dumping polluted water on public property and endangering the lives of transit riders", well this is Cook County, the home of the Daley Democratic Machine and all is often not as it appears. It turns out that the owner of the car wash is politically connected with the village of Skokie and the City of Chicago, so this week the dumping that undermines a CTA railroad crossing continues. Think about that one, here is a situation that involves both the IL. EPA and the US EPA, car wash discharge can include many chemicals that should not go into the sewers. The entire project is under the auspices of the CTA, the RTA, the IL DOT and because the project is being partially paid for using federal funds it involves the US DOT. It is beginning to sound as if this story might also involve the FBI. As of last weekend the CTA stated that they would send a structural engineer out to the site to meet with the contractor next Saturday. Welcome to Cook County where it is alright to pollute if you donate to the correct party and where your pollution will be overlooked even when you endanger a train system with a deadly derailment, as long as your check clears.

This is the story of one guy I know concerning one crossing on one CTA line, multiply that by miles of train track and hundreds of miles of streets and highways in Cook County and you get an idea of the actual dangers of corruption. Our political leaders don't take the CTA so apparently they don't care if cars derail as long as they get theirs.

The obvious advice is stay off of the Skokie Swift but less obvious but more important piece of advice is to not elect Chicago politicians to national office.

Chuck Schumer, Meet George Bailey

It was not widely reported last weekend that federal banking regulators have stated that the "run" on the failed Indymac bank of Pasadena, Ca. was caused by the public grandstanding of one of New York's Senators, Democrat Charles Schumer. Schumer of course denies that his grandstanding had anything to do with the bank run that started in earnest after Schumer commenced his grandstanding.

Senator Schumer, meet George Bailey as he talks to the town of Bedford Falls, New York on the subjects of how banks work and how bank runs occur. I would suggest viewing the complete movie, Frank Capra's It's a Wonderful Life starring Jimmy Stewart, Donna Reed and Lionel Barrymore, it is a holiday classic after all. Update: The more I Googled the worse it got, CNBC is suggesting that Schumer may have acted in concert with, get this, a "left wing activist group", hmm, you think? An interesting add-on is the possible involvement of short-sellers of Indymac stock, hello SEC. Here are two of the key paragraphs:

Perhaps this might help answer the question: Indymac has been under attack from the hard left. The Center for Responsible Lending issued an attack on Indymac within a few days of Schumer’s letter. CRL is part of a small army of left of center ‘research’ groups, community organizers, and public interest law firms who make their living accusing home lenders of racial redlining and predatory lending. On June 20th the Center accused Indymac of unfair practices regarding minority borrowers.

A suspicious person might think that a network of lefty attack groups proficient in bank bashing and frequently funded by trial lawyers and short-sellers, coordinated their activities with a law firm on the hunt and a Senator who works closely with the network.

Pelosi Satisfies Democratic Crazies

It may be a go, Pelosi has been going crazy lately trying to make America more dangerous so why not attempt to become President? She has moved the insane Dennis Kucinich's impeachment bill into the House Judiciary Committee. The Judiciary Committee is chaired by John Conyers, a man whose crazy wife Monica may very well end up in jail for corruption in their hometown of Detroit. Pelosi is number three in the line of succession to the Presidency so watch for Vice-President Cheney to go down first if she can pull off this nonsense.

Pelosi and Dems Want to Control Free Speech

Again. Two years ago the Democrats wanted to force bloggers who write about congress to register with the federal government under threat of jail time. Today Pelosi and the Democrats want to replace unused rules by placing restrictions on what members of congress can say on pre-approved internet sites. Pre-approved by the Democratic majority. They want to control public opinion using fascist techniques. Pathetic.

Obama Campaign Runs Illegal Raffle

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety is investigating the Obama campaign's online raffle, political raffles are illegal in Minnesota. "We are not conducting a raffle of any kind," said Obama spokesman Nick Kimball, however the website offered a chance to meet Obama in Denver at the convention with a friend and the prize included at least transportation and to get a chance to win that prize the player had to donate to the Obama campaign, that fulfills Minnesota's and any reasonable definition of the word "raffle".

Last night (Tuesday night) the Obama campaign took the political raffle off of their website and then announced that donations would not be required for the raffle. Is it legal to offer a prize for a political donation anywhere in America? By including at least transportation to Denver (and I would presume some sort of lodging) the prize has monetary value so I wonder what they were thinking. However this whole scheme sounds like what we should expect from the Obama campaign and a possible Obama administration, they put up an illegal fundraising scheme on their website, deny, deny when they are called on it and change the raffle before the press is forced to pay too much attention to the issue.

More on the Democratic Party's Support of Narco-Terrorists

Yesterday in Pelosi Lied - Neighborhoods Died Flying Debris pointed out the disgrace of Democratic leaders secret communications with the narco-terrorist group FARC in Columbia. Unfortunately for the Democrats this news will likely continue to drip out, without much help from the western media, many of whom are in the bag for all sorts of unsavory tyrranical groups. As Powerline reminded us yesterday the contacts between the Democrats and FARC included assurances that the Democrats would stand in the way of a trade pact that would benefit American exporters to Columbia and that the next US president would be Barack Obama who would surely scuttle any trade treaty with Columbia (a treaty that would benefit American workers). The denial of the trade treaty has been an aim of the FARC narco-terrorists and the American Democratic Party has been supportive of those aims, to the detriment of Americans and Columbians and to the benefit of fascists everywhere. They're such good people.

Pelosi Lied - American Neighborhoods Died

No shock to those of us who pay attention but there is now more proof that Democratic Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi was in charge of the Democratic Party's alliance with the cocaine-trafficking tyrannical terrorist group FARC. Sure, many of her constituents are drug-addled idiots but the rest of us have not been pining for cheaper cocaine on American streets. Having lived in a few different Chicago neighborhoods I know first hand the scourge of crack and heroin and let me tell you, liberals don't care unless it affects them or they can make money off of the situation.

When I lived on Sheffield Ave. across the street from Wrigley Field there was a crack house in a garage right down the allley (also across from Wrigley Field) that was closed by the Chicago Police just in time for the Cubs Opening Day every year. The crack house would move to a less conspicuous spot around the corner until the final game of the season when it would again be open for business. No amount of complaining got the place closed down during the Cubs' off-season.

When I lived on Grace St., a block north of Wrigley, we had a problem with homeless junkies living on Cubs property after the baseball season had ended. The property in question is on Grace St. next door to a shelter for abused women and just maybe a bunch of homeless junkies and alcoholics isn't the best thing to have next to a shelter for abused women but hey, this is liberal Chicago. When I went to the alderman (Chicago's first outwardly gay alderman) his office wanted nothing to do with the issue and stated that they would not help our neighborhood because, get this, "the homeless have to live somewhere." Considering that back then I was paying nearly $10,000 per year in property taxes alone such a response from some liberal boobs (the alderman and his employees) did not go over well with me so I went to the Cubs and received the exact same response. It is notable that the Cubs are owned by the Tribune Corp. of Chicago and that they publish a sinking liberal rag called the Chicago Tribune. Back in the '70s the late great Chicagoan John Belushi described the Tribune as "that fascist newspaper from Chicago" on Saturday Night Live. The more things change...

Anyway, FARC has been a notorious drug operation for over a decade and the American Democratic Party has embraced them, the Democrats are doing some of FARC's dirty work. Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats have made their stand against a free trade pact with Columbia despite the fact that it would not increase Columbian access to American markets but rather the treaty would increase American access to Columbian markets. Whether the Democratic Party is supporting the narco-terrorist thugs because of the cocaine or because so many Democrats are fascists is inconsequential, their policies have demonstrably increased the availability of cocaine and crack cocaine on the streets of America and in doing so they have been lowering the quality of life for all of us.

Democratic Lies on Oil Leases

These people are shameless and they believe that their fellow Democrats are just dimwitted, Rep. Edward Markey (D-Mass) got the ball rolling last week and since then others have jumped on the BSers Bandwagon including my congressman Rahm Emanuel (D-IL).* They are telling the world that Big Oil is trying to game the lease system and that they have ample acreage to drill on but that they are refusing to drill, for some unknown, conspiratorial reason. Maybe Rahm's brother can get a movie made about evil oil executives not using oil leases. This does go along very well with the Democratic manner of looking at the world, not as complex often intertwined systems but rather as various conspiracies often featuring great and powerful invisible hands, just not the Adam Smith types of invisible hands.

It should not really take much to imagine why any certain leased land may not be drilled on, the most obvious being dry holes. While looking around the internet for a more complete answer I ran across American Anachronism, the blog of Lt. Col. Mark Ward, US Army (Ret.) and the good Colonel had the good sense to contact one of his fellow Heritage Foundation members and former Oklahoma Congressman Ernest Ishtook who wrote a very interesting response that includes the following:

Believe me, with oil at $130 per barrel, they would drill on those lands if it made sense to do so! No, not all oil and gas leases are “being used”, because not all of them have production-worthy quantities of oil or gas. Lots of people have property that is not being used, but government doesn’t use it as an excuse to take it away, or to forbid the owners from buying other property.

First, a company may lease property, but never have the funds to properly explore it or drill an exploratory well. Second, after paying for further tests (such as seismic), they often decide the lease isn’t worth the high, high costs of drilling after all. Or they may hold onto the lease for years until either higher oil prices or new technology makes it feasible to drill. Third, a company may lease property but drill on another tract (which drains a “pool” that covers multiple leased tracts), so perhaps they’re counting it as “not used” if no well is sunk on that particular piece of property. Fourth, they may try to drill and be blocked by government bureaucrats, environmental lawsuits, etc.

Finally, not all acres are alike. Some have lots of oil. Others have virtually known (sic). Saying they’re not drilling for oil everywhere is like faulting them for not digging a gold mine on every acre.

Obama Clicks Heels 3 Times and Finds Magical Motor!

Last weekend in Pennsylvania Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) made a speech that touched on all sorts of ignorant liberal delusions, he said that with the investment of $250 Billion 4 or 5 years ago that we could now have automobile engines that would not require fossil fuels. Was he high? Is he ill? Seriously, what the hell is wrong with the guy? Sure, I have been hearing such nonsense from some of my more liberal friends for decades, but those clowns aren't running for anything but a taxicab.

This sort of nonsense has been rife among leftists for years. I have been hearing that the "oil companies" have stopped dramatic advances in engine technology by buying patents and by other means since I was a child in the 1960s. Earth to liberal lawyers, patents expire. That bit of reality is often met with icy stares and talk of how I might be part of the conspiracy.

I am an avid sport car nut and not only have I built automobile engines but I even once blogged about building an engine to run on E85, ethanol. Over the years I have even read information from the SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) on the subject of new engines and I have absolutely no idea what this unprincipled politician is talking about. Well, I must confess that I do know what he is talking about, as an old theology teacher used to say, "Lies, All Lies!"

Here is what the Black Rand McNally had to say, "if we had tried to look at how are we going to create a new engine that doesn't run on fossil fuels. Imagine that. Over the last five years, we could be in a position now where we could have perhaps sliced our energy consumption by a third, and if we had done that gas prices would be low because people wouldn't be using gas." Where do these people get this silly stuff? Hey Hopey, try that line in Michigan, a place where folks actually work on their cars and know about such things.

I should add that this bit of dishonesty fits perfectly with many of Obama's economic ideas, they rely on Jack's Magic Beans.

It seems that "busloads of Illinois residents and downstate Indiana students who weren't registered to vote in East Chicago or Whiting appeared at those communities' polls" according to Indiana poll watchers. Lake County, Indiana officials heard that testimony yesterday. Dear America, welcome to Chicago's crooked politics. Is this that the type of "community organising" that Barack Obama and his acolytes specialize in? Yes they can!
